AdVantage is a special feature designed to boost your ad Click-Through Rate (CTR) by displaying undetectable ad overlays on your content. This innovative approach can significantly increase ad revenue without disrupting the user experience.
How does AriseAds AdVantage work?
AriseAds AdVantage works by taking an existing ad from your website, making it undetectable, and overlaying it on your content. When visitors click on the overlaid section of the page, the click is redirected to the undetectable ad. This technique can dramatically increase your ad earnings by improving click-through rates.
Will AdVantage Lead to Invalid Clicks?
Good point! But no.
Here’s the logic: The visitor’s initial intent was to click on an element that would typically lead to another page with more information. However, AdVantage redirects that click to an ad, which opens the advertiser’s page. Since the visitor was already expecting to get information, they will likely spend a few seconds exploring the page to see if it aligns with their intent. By spending time on the advertiser’s page, the ad network registers it as a valid click.
Example:
A visitor clicks the “Apply Now” button on your scholarship content, but instead, they are redirected to an AdVantage ad overlaid on the button, which leads to an education-related advertiser’s page. Because the topic is still relevant, the visitor is likely to spend some time browsing before returning, fulfilling their initial intent.
If the visitor clicks back to your site, depending on your configuration, they will no longer see the AdVantage overlay.
Also, since most ads are personalized, the advertiser’s page may be highly relevant to the visitor, increasing the chance they’ll take action on the page.
AriseAds AdVantage does not lead to invalid clicks, based on our internal testing and feedback from current AdVantage users.

Configuring AdVantage
The settings page is typically organized into collapsible sections:
Ad Code Setup
This is the most crucial part, it determines what ad will be used by AdVantage. You have two options to set up your ad code.
Use On Page Ad (Recommended for Single Posts):
How it works: AdVantage will use an existing ad that you have already placed on your single post pages. You need to wrap any single post ad code of your choice with a specific CSS class. This method is recommended as it leverages ads already present on your site.
On Page Ad Wrapper Class Name: Enter a unique CSS class name here (e.g., my-special-ad
, default is adv
). This class name should not have a dot (.
) in front of it in this input field.
Next, locate one of the ad codes that displays on the single post you wish to be used as AdVantage, and wrap it with <div class="your-chosen-class-name">...your_ad_code_here</div>
Example: If you set the class to my-special-ad
Your ad code should be wrapped as follows:
<div class="my-special-ad">...</div>
Ad Wrapper Tool: The settings page provides a helpful tool. Click the link (often says “click here to wrap your ad code”) to open a popup. Paste your existing ad code into the popup, and it will generate the wrapped code for you to copy and paste into your site.
Example: If your class is my-special-ad
Your on-page ad code should look like: <div class="my-special-ad"> <!-- Your Original AdSense/Other Ad Code Here --> </div>
.
A helper tool is available on the settings page (“click here to wrap your ad code”) to generate this wrapper for you.
Note: If multiple ads on a page have this class, AdVantage may select one randomly.
Limitation: This method is primarily designed to work on single post/page views.
Use Ad Code
Select this to provide a specific ad code that AdVantage will use directly.
Ad Code Textarea: Paste your ad unit code (e.g., Google AdSense, other network ad tags) here.
Recommendation: It’s advised to use an ad unit that is already in use anywhere on your site, rather than creating a brand new ad unit solely for AdVantage.

Advanced Settings
Display Settings
Delay Display (seconds): How many seconds to wait before displaying the AdVantage ad after the page loads
- Set to 0 to show immediately (if other conditions like scroll are also met or not set).
Default: 5 seconds. - A slight delay can make the ad less noticeable
Show After Scroll (%): Only show the AdVantage ad after the visitor has scrolled to a certain percentage of the page
- Enter a percentage (0-100). The AdVantage ad will only attempt to show after the user has scrolled down this much of the page.

Note: If you set both Delay Display and Show After Scroll, both conditions have to be met before AdVantage is triggered.
Visitor Click Limits
Maximum Clicks: Limit how many times a single visitor can click on AdVantage ads
- Leave empty or set to 0 for unlimited clicks
- This helps prevent overexposure to the same user
Time Window (days): The period after which the click counter resets. Example: Setting 2 clicks in 1 day means AdVantage will stop appearing for a visitor after they click twice within 24 hours
Ad Position
Position: Where the invisible AdVantage ad appears on the screen
- Center (recommended): Places the ad in the middle of the screen
- Left: Places the ad on the left side
- Right: Places the ad on the right side

- Horizontal Position (%): Where the ad appears horizontally (0 = left edge, 100 = right edge)
Preview Mode
At the bottom of the settings, you’ll find:
Enable Admin Preview Mode: When checked, this makes the normally invisible AdVantage ad visible (semi-transparent) to administrators only. This helps you see how it’s positioned and that it’s working correctly.
Saving Your Settings
After making any changes, click the “Save Ad Unit” button at the bottom of the page to apply your settings.
Best Practices for AdVantage
Start with preview mode enabled to ensure proper positioning and functionality.
Use targeted placement rather than site-wide implementation:
- Consider showing AdVantage only on your most popular content
- Target specific categories or post types where it makes sense
Be mindful of user experience:
- Use the click limits to prevent frustrating repeat visitors
- Consider excluding your most loyal users (e.g., logged-in visitors)
Monitor your ad network account:
- Watch for any feedback from your ad network about click quality
- Adjust settings if necessary to maintain compliance with ad network policies
Track performance:
- Regularly check the Stats section to see how AdVantage is performing
- Compare revenue before and after implementing AdVantage
Important Note: While AdVantage can significantly increase ad revenue, it should be used responsibly. Some ad networks may have policies regarding invisible or overlay ads, so it’s recommended to use this feature moderately.
